## About the Founder

David Pauwels grew up in Los Angeles cannabis culture - his father introduced him to the plant. After nearly two decades in the industry spanning pre-legalization advocacy and the modern regulated market, Pauwels applied through the City of Los Angeles Department of Cannabis Regulation (DCR) Social Equity Program. His retail license was approved after a multi-year process, and Pauwels Cannabis Co. opened in early 2025.

Pauwels also founded **Pauwels Cannabis Cosmetics**, a patent-pending topical line (La Crème, Liniment, Liniment Extra Strength) combining live rosin with activated oxygen. He runs a Sun Valley manufacturing facility and plans a cannabis waste paper company as his next venture.
